Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-At least ten people were killed and 45 injured in two separate road accidents in Bangladesh on Saturday morning.
Seven people were killed in Tangail, a central district of Bangladesh, while three more killed in Chuadanga, a south-west district of Bangladesh, police said.
TANGAIL: At least seven people were killed and 45 injured in road crashes in Tangail district on Saturday morning.
The accident took place on the eastern side of Bangabandhu Bridge in Bhuapur upazila of Tangail leaving seven people on the spot and 45 others injured.
Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately, the police said.
In the first incident, a bus of ‘Sarkar Paribahan’ dashed the rear of a cattle-laden truck around 7:00am, leaving four people killed on the spot and 13 others injured.
Later, within a moment, a northern region-bound truck from Dhaka hit a truck from behind and a number of vehicles, including a truck, bus and an ambulance, banged on the truck, leaving one person killed on the spot and 34 others injured, said the police.
The injured were rushed to Sirajganj General Hospital, Tangail General Hospital and several clinics.
Of the injured, one unidentified died on way to hospital while another died at Sirajganj General Hospital.
The accidents occurred due to opaque visibility caused by dense fog, the police added.
CHUADANGA: Three people were killed and nine others injured in a head-on collision between two buses in Chuadanga on Saturday morning.
The collision took place around 8:00am when a Darshana-bound bus from Chuadanga collided head-on with another bus coming from the opposite direction, leaving two drivers dead on the spot and 10 others injured at Joyrampur in Darshana upazila of Chuadanga, the police said.
Of the injured, one died on way to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital.
The rest injured people were being treated at the hospital.
