Chennai, India (BBN)-Eleven people were killed when a compound wall of a godown collapsed at Upparapalayam in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu in the wee hours of Sunday.
Tiruvallur collector K Veera Raghava Rao said, "One child and four women were among the eleven dead. The rescue at the site is over."
An injured person, identified as Nagaraj, was rushed to Stanley Medical College Hospital in Chennai, reports The Times of India.
All of them of are said to be construction workers from Andhra Pradesh.
The accident happened near a construction site.
The cause of the accident was not known immediately.
Earlier, 61 construction workers were killed in a building collapse in Tamil Nadu's Chennai on June 28.
