Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The Awami League (AL)-led 14-patry will hold a grand rally at Bangbandhu Avenue in the capital Dhaka on March 14 to unite people against the “opposition’s conspiracy” to obstruct the trial of the war criminals.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the 14-party alliance at the AL chief’s Dhanmondi office in the capital Thursday with Deputy Leader of the House Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, the main coordinator of the 14-party, in the chair. Leaders of the 14-party alliance attended the meeting.
The 14-party alliance will form human chains on March 9 and 11 at district level and in the capital Dhaka respectively as was scheduled earlier, AL Acting General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif told reporters after the meeting.
He alleged that the opposition BNP is now trying hard to foil the trial of the war criminals, which is a demand of the masses.
Replying to a query, he said the Awami League will not obstruct the opposition’s democratic program on March 12. “We always believe in democratic process,” he noted.
