Last updated: May 4, 2013

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The BNP-led 18-party alliance will hold a rally in capital’s commercial hub Motijheel area Saturday afternoon to put weight on the government to realize its prime demand, restoration of the caretaker government system.
The rally will begin around 2:00pm at Shapla Chattar in Motijheel.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is expected to reached the venue around 4:00pm and announce the opposition alliance’s next course of action from the rally, party leaders said.
The 18-party alliance is going to hold the rally a day before Hefajat-e Islam’s lay siege to Dhaka program.
Hefajat’s programme is set for Sunday to materialize its 13-point demand, including introduction of Sharia [law of Islam] to punish atheists and those who act against Islam.
BNP had already held meetings of district and divisional leaders at the party office and made the grassroots-level leaders aware of their duties to make the rally successful.
