Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) on Sunday awarded scholarship to 200 underprivileged students who obtained GPA-5 in the SSC examination-2011.
Former Bangladesh Bank governor Dr Salehuddin Ahmad attended the function held at the Institution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh in the capital Dhaka.. 
Islami Bank chairman Prof Abu Nasser M Abduz Zaher presided over the function. Vice chairman of the bank Engineer Mustafa Anwar, chairman, executive committee M Eskander Ali Khan, chairman, audit committee M Shahidul Islam and representative of Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation M Abdullah AlJalahma, among others, were present. 
BDT 6000 was given to each of 200 students who obtained GPA-5 in SSC exam for six month scholarship, the IBBL said.
Speaking at the function, Dr Salehuddin Ahmad said the role of Islami Bank in economic development of the country has been praised from every corner. 
He said the bank’s growth and progress in every sector including investment management, import-export, and remittance collection is remarkable.
