Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – United Airways Ltd dominated the week’s top turnover chart on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) last week that ended on Thursday.
A total of 146.40 million shares worth BDT 1.58 billion changed hands during the week.
Daily average turnover for the company was BDT 315.40 million.
The company’s share closed at 11.5 on Thursday, the last trading day of the week, registering an increase of 29.21 percent over the week.
Analysts said the investors took position on United Airway’s share, anticipating hefty dividend declaration ahead as the company’s year closing on June 30, 2015.
In 2014, the company disbursed 10 percent stock dividend.
The company reported net profit after tax from July14 to Dec14 was BDT 268.14 million with EPS of BDT 0.43 as against BDT 277.59 million and BDR 0.44 (restated) respectively for the same period of the previous year.
The Travel and Leisure Sector Company listed on the Dhaka bourse in 2010 and belonging to ‘A’ category.
Of the total share – sponsor/directors held by only 8.44 percent, institutions held 19.62 per cent while general public held by 71.94 percent shares, according to DSE website information.
The week’s other turnover leaders were KPCL BDT 1.55 billion changed hands followed by Beximco BDT 1.40 billion, Summit Power BDT 1.120 billion, GP BDT 846 million, Beximco Pharma BDT 759 million and Lafarge Surma Cement BDT 718 million.
United Power Generation and Distribution Company also came to the top turnover list with shares worth BDT 702 million changed hands followed BSCCL BDT 608 million and Square Pharma worth BDT 567 million changed hands last week.
