2,100 telephones of central bank, Sena Kalyan become inoperative

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- A total of 2,100 telephones of Bangladesh Bank (BB) and Sena Kalyan Sangstha Bhaban under Ramna Exchange have gone out of order due to cable theft.

Those telephones became inoperative as 300 pairs of underground cables near Jiban Bima Tower were stolen on Saturday.

Steps have been taken to restore the telephone lines shortly, a Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) press statement said.

The BTCL also expressed its regret for temporary inconvenience caused to the subscribers.
