Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s premier bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), on Wednesday launched the much-waited DSE-Mobile application proving the opportunity of real-time share trading through mobile apps.
The finance minister AMA Muhith launched the DSE-Mobile at a grand ceremony held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in capital Dhaka.
Following the introduction of DSE-Mobile apps, investors having BO (beneficiary owner’s) accounts will be able to avail mobile trading service along with getting required information through their mobile apps.
The Finance Minister AMA Muhith termed the DSE-Mobile apps as the time befitting for creating vibrancy in the capital market.
“The DSE-Mobile will help to create vibrant capital market,” said Muhith.
He said investors’ gathering may reduce in commercial hubs of Bangladesh –Motijheel and Dilkusha– if the investors are able to conduct share trading through the DSE-Mobile.

BSEC chairman Prof. M Khairul Hossain said investors of different areas can be brought under the coverage of capital market by opening branches of brokerage firms as per the demand of stock brokers.
So, it’s better to bring literate investors under the coverage of the capital market through the DSE-Mobile, Khairul said.
He said the securities regulator would introduce countrywide financial literacy programme this year.
The BSEC chairman also claimed that the securities regulator approved not a single IPO (initial public offering) proposal beyond the rules.
DSE managing director said the flow of information will be ensured as per investors’ requirement.
“We have launched the DSE-Mobile application overcoming many limitations of technology. Now, the control of risk management will come in the hands of investors,” said Dr Swapan Kumar Bala, managing director of DSE.
The DSE-Mobile is a mobile app, directly linked with DSE trading system, which provides real-time awareness to investors with mobility.

The DSE-Mobile has two versions. The first one is called DSE-Mobile VIP, which is a non-trading version. The second one – DSE-Mobile Trader – is a trading version of the mobile app.
According to the DSE, the benefits of mobile trading include the access to market information, real-time order submission, portfolio value and executions, price alert, price limit and market opportunities on favourites.
Android mobile set with minimum software version of 4.4, standard display size of 4″, and minimum view port resolution of 320px will be required for share trading executed through DSE-Mobile.
The top officials of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), both the bourses, merchant banks, brokerage firms and other financial institutions were present the launching ceremony, among others.
