Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Private Sector Foreign Loan and Supplier’s Credit Approval Committee cleared loan proposals worth US$ 292.3 million for nine projects, including US$ 190.0 million for Summit Meghnaghat Power Company Limited. 
Board of Investment Scrutiny Committee for approval of foreign loan /supplier’s credit was held today at Bangladesh Bank (BB) with Governor Dr Atiur Rahman in the chair, officials said.
Other approved projects were $ 42.0 million for Robi Axiata Limited, $ 39.0 million for Augere Wireless Broadband Limited, $7.0 million for Nipro JMI Company Limited, $ 6.0 million for Vintage Studio Limited, $ 2.0 million for American & Efrid (BD) Limited, $3.0 million for Amtranet Limited, $ 2.2 million for 
Trims International (BD) limited and $ 1.1 million for Barkat Accessories Limited. During the meeting, two Joint director of Bangladesh Bank informed the committee that more foreign financing proposals are under processing and close consideration for approval. 
The committee hoped that this type of foreign financing will be helpful to keep the dollar price stable. The deficit of country’s ‘Balance of Payment” will decrease and it will also create more job opportunity for the people of the country, they added.
Representatives of the Prime Minister’s office, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Industries, Board of Investment and officials of the committee secretariat were present at the meeting.
