London, UK (BBN)-Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain has scored herself the gig of a lifetime.
The 31-year-old, who won the nation’s hearts during the most recent series of GBBO, has been asked to make the Queen’s 90th birthday cake, reports Mtro.co.uk.
Nadiya revealed her big news on Friday’s edition of Loose Women, admitting she was very nervous about baking for the monarch, who turns 90 on April 21.
‘How often can you say that you are baking the Queen’s birthday cake in one sentence?’ she said while appearing on the ITV daytime show.
‘Sometimes I want to drown it out because I don’t want to talk about it.’
‘I can’t say no to the queen, can I?’
The mother-of-three said she was relieved to be able to tell the world her secret after having to keep a lid on it for three weeks.
She’ll be baking an orange drizzle with orange curd and orange buttercream and fondant for the Queen (who we’re guessing is a big GBBO fan) and is dropping it off on Thursday.
‘I’m so nervous I can’t even look at the oven right now,’ she added.
Nadiya has been flooded with offers since beating off stiff competition to be crowned GBBO’s 2015 winner, but this is probably the most exciting so far.
She currently has a weekly column in The Times Magazine and landed a book deal earlier this year.
