Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The preliminary test of 29th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) will be held in Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal and Sylhet on Friday.
Some 1,23,945 candidates are likely to appear in the test to be arranged by Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC).
To be held simultaneously at 10am, the test will be held at 92 centres. Of the centres, 55 are in Dhaka, 18 in Rajshahi, 7 in Chittagong, 7 in Khulna, 2 in Barishal and 3 in Sylhet, the officials said.
This year, PSC has introduced a new system for form collection, submission and issuance of admit card for BCS examinations for reducing time limit for procedural matters.
Under the new system, six examination centres will have separate colours and registration numbers for the application forms.
The colour of application form for Dhaka centre is green, yellow for Rajshahi, pink for Chittagong, blue for Khulna, violet for Barisal and orange for Sylhet.
Similarly, the registration number for Dhaka is from 000001 to 2,00,000, for Rajshahi from 2,00,001 to 3,00,000, for Chittagong from 3,00,001 to 4,00,000, for Khulna from 4,00,001 to 5,00,000, for Barisal from 5,00,001 to 6,00,000 and for Sylhet from 6,00,001 to 7,00,000.
Earlier, the PSC through national dailies advertised circular for 29th BCS test and invited applications for 1,581 vacant posts under different cadres.
Of the posts, 401 are in general cadre while 1,180 in technical cadre.
