Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Three pedestrians were killed and seven injured as a train ploughed through crowd at a rail crossing in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, Thursday morning.
Identities of the victims could not be known immediately.
The accident took place at the rail crossing adjacent to Karwan Bazar kitchen market around 9:00 in the morning, locals told the BBN.
It all happened when Dhaka-bound Jamuna Intercity Express from Mymensingh and Chittagong-bound Karnafuli Express from Dhaka reached there at the same time, they added.
The pedestrians did not get any time to go to safe distance to avoid the accident, they said.
One victim died on the spot while two other succumbed to their injuries at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
The injured – four male and three female – were undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Condition of some of the injured were stated to be critical.
