Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) will sit Monday with top brokers to discuss the ongoing situation of the capital market, officials said.
The meeting has been arranged following the ongoing sluggish trend of the country’s capital market.
A meeting will be held at the office of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) at 5:00pm to discuss about the current market situation, said a BSEC official.
DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, lost around 164 points in last six trading sessions amid thin turnover value.
Bangladesh Bank (BB) last week relaxed the rules related to banks’ investment in stocks in a move to boost the moribund market, but it could not work as a catalyst to boost up the market amid lack of clear directions regarding the announcement.
