Bangladesh’s stocks open positive

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed upward trend in early hour of trading on Sunday with marginal volatility, the opening trading session of the week.
Both bourses – the premier bourse Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the port city bourse Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw positive trend when filed the report at 10:45am.
The key index of the DSE advanced 2.89 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse gained 16.09 points within 15 minutes of the day’s trading at 10:45am.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 2.89 points or 0.06 percent to stand at 4,555.82 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 3.59 points or 0.20 percent to reach at 1,782.88 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 1.41 points or 0.13 percent to reach at 1,115.69 points.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 285 million when the report was filed at 10:45am, riding on Bangladesh Steel Re-rolling Mills and ACI Formulations.
Of the issues traded till then, 93 advanced, 44 declined and 43 issues remained unchanged.
Bangladesh Steel Re-rolling Mills dominated the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 35 million changing hands till then, followed by ACI Formulations, Shahjibazar Power Company, ACME Laboratories and eastern Cables.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse CSE also saw upward trend till then with its Selective Category Index- CSCX–advancing 16.09 points to stand at 8,544.22 points, also at 10:45am.
Of the issues traded till then, 33 gained, 19 declined 11 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 7.0 million.
