32 Burmese Rohingyas pushed back

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Thirty-two Rohingyas, who entered Bangladesh from Burma using different border points in Lama upazila of Bandarban district early Monday and on Sunday, were pushed back.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided Sarai, Amtali and Rupashipara in the upazila Monday morning and arrested 18 Rohingyas.

On Sunday evening, police raided different areas of the upazila and arrested 14 Myanmar nationals for their illegal entry into Bangladesh.

The arrested Ronhingyas were pushed back to Burma, officially known as Myanmar, with the help of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) personnel Monday evening, The Daily Star, a local newspaper, reported.
