Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- All retailers and brands are joining the Dhaka Apparel Summit, scheduled to be held in the capital Dhaka, on Saturday, organizers said on Friday.
Quoting Buyers’ Forum’s confirmation, they also said the representatives of retailer and brand also attended a networking dinner, organised by the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), on Friday on the occasion of the Summit.
Talking to BBN, an organizer said the news has cleared up all the confusions created after some media reports said that several brands might not attend the Summit.
The second Dhaka Apparel Summit 2017 is being organized by the BGMEA in collaboration with Bangladesh Apparel Exchange (BAE) in Dhaka with the objective of opening dialogue on framing strategies to secure a more sustainable apparel supply chain from local and global perspectives.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the day-long largest expo on the US$28 billion apparel industry at Hotel Pan Pacific Sonargoan in Dhaka.
The event will feature three interactive sessions where some of the world’s leading experts in their respective fields will share their experiences and visionary thoughts on the apparel industry and ways in which the business can realize sustainable growth well into the 21st Century.
Stakeholders, including ministers, policymakers, representatives of brands, diplomats, development partners, will take part in the Summit.
The BGMEA hopes that with the support of all the stakeholders, Bangladesh apparel industry will be able to realize its untapped potentials in the global market.
Nearly four thousand people have registered themselves to participate in the Summit.
