Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- A total of 361 Eid jamaat (congregations) of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the greatest religious festival of Muslim community, will be held in the capital Dhaka.
Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated across the country on Monday.
Both parts of Dhaka City Corporations (South and North) will arrange those jamaats, — four in each of the 90 wards and one at Dhaka University playground.
The main Jamaat of holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be held at the National Eidgah on the High Court premises at 8.30 am, a press statement said.
President Mohammad Zillur Rahman, cabinet members, VIPs, foreign diplomats of different Muslim countries, high civil and army officials, Judges, political leaders and elite will offer Eid prayers at the National Eidgah.
All necessary arrangements, including supply of water and setting up of mobile toilets at National Eidgah, have been completed.
Law enforcing agencies including the police and anti-crime elite forces Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) will vigil to ensure a foolproof security measures for Eid congregations in city.
A total of 50 close circuit television (CCTVs) cameras have been installed in and around the national Eidgah, while special security measures have been arranged for other mosques and Eidghas in the capita.
Arrangements for Eid congregation for women have been made on one side of National Eidgah with a separate entrance, the DCC said.
The national mosque, Baitul Mokarram, will host five Eid jamaats at 7:00 am, 8:00 am, 9:00 am, 10 am and 11 am.
An Eid Jamaat will also be held at South Plaza of Sangsad Bhaban at 8.30 am, where Speaker Abdul Hamid Advocate, Deputy Speaker and other parliament members are expected to join.
Two Eid congregations will be held at Dhaka University Central Mosque at 8:00 am and 9:00 am and at Baro Bhat Masjid on Lalbagh Road at 8.30 am and 9.30 am.
Three Eid congregations will be held at Babe Rahmat of Dewanbag Sharif at Arambagh at 8:00 am, 9.30 am and 10 am.
A congregation will be held at Harun Mollah Eidgah Math at Mirpur- 12, one of the biggest Eidgahs of the city, at 8:00 am while congregation of Bangladesh Jamayate Ahlehadis will be held at central playground of Dhaka University at 8:00 am.
Eid congregations will also be held at Baitul Mamur Jame Masjid at 8.30 am, Dhanmondi Eidgah Maidan at 8.30 am, Azimpur Chhoto Daira Masjid at 11.00 am and 11.30 am, Gulshan Central Masjid and Eidgah Maidan at 8.30 am, Nayapaltan Jame Masjid at 8:00 am, SOS Shishu Polly Jame Masjid at Shyamoli at 8.15 am and
Maghbazar BTCL Jame Masjid at 8:00 am.
