Dubai, UAE (BBN)- Four Bangladeshis are among the 13 Asian workers killed in a bus accident in Dubai of United Arab Emirates Saturday, said an embassy official.

Sixteen more workers also sustained injuries in the accident that took place in the Dubai suburb of Ruwayyah.

The accident occurred when a bus overturned and hit a lorry parked on the hard shoulder of a motorway outside Dubai, killing 13 Asian workers on board, police said.

It happened on Emirates Road, a busy route that connects the capital Abu Dhabi to the north of the United Arab Emirates, bypassing Dubai itself, media reports said.

The identities of the victims were not known immediately.

Expatriates, many of them Asian, make up the great majority of Dubai's 2.2 million population.
