Man killed son, 3 more family members in Bangladesh

Joypurhat, Bangladesh (BBN)-A man allegedly stabbed dead his minor son and three more of his kin centring a family dispute in Joypurhat, a northern district of Bangladesh, early Saturday.

Police however arrested the suspected killer, Suman, immediately after the killing.

The killing was the outcome of a family dispute centring an extramarital affair that spewed around 4:00am at Adibasi Palli of Vrimpur Taltola village in Panchbibi upazila.

Suman, suspected for the killing, locked in an altercation at the end of night with his wife whom he had married nearly seven years ago, blaming her for an extramarital affair.

At one stage, the infuriated man started to stab his wife and son indiscriminately.

Hearing the cry of the women and son, their relatives came to rescue and Suman also stabbed them arbitrarily.

All the victims died on the spot.

The dead include Suman’s son, mother-in-law and sister-in-law.
