5 militants to die for killing Bangladesh PP

Jhalakathi, Bangladesh (BBN)-A Bangladesh court awarded death penalty to five members of militant outfit Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) for killing a public prosecutor in 2007.
The JMB militants on April 11 in 2007 gunned down Haider Hossain, the public prosecutor, while he came out of a mosque after the completing his Esha prayers in the town of Jhalakathi, a southwestern district of Bangladesh.
The court of Jhalakathi Additional Session Judge delivered the verdict Wednesday.
Earlier in March of 2007, JMB kingpin Shaikh Abdur Rahman, his second-in-command Siddiqul Islam alias Bangla Bhai and four of top ranking JMB men were hanged for killing two Jhalakathi judges.
The JMB militants had rattled Bangladesh through a series of coordinated blasts and suicide bombings in 2005.
