7 vehicles torched in Bangladesh capital

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-At least eight vehicles were torched in different areas of Bangladesh capital Dhaka Saturday evening, police and witnesses said.

However no injury was reported from the arson attacks.

Miscreants torched three private cars including one of Desh tv, a private television channel of the country.

The Desh tv vehicle was torched around 7:00pm at Mouchak crossing in Dhaka.

A duty officer of fire service confirmed the fire.

Witnesses said some youths, carrying backpacks, in three groups brought out a sudden procession from different lanes around Mouchak Market at about 6:40pm.
They exploded some 15 crude bombs in front of the Desh tv office.
Later, they set fire to three vehicles, including one of the private television channel, throwing petrol bombs on them and vandalised three others.

Miscreants also torched one bus and two covered vans in city’s Jatrabari area at around 6:30pm.

On the other hand, a passenger bus was touched at Kamal Ataturk Avenue in the city at around 7:00pm.

Confirming the arson attack, a Banani Police Station official said nobody was injured in the attacks.
