Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The examinees of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations have done well this year as their success rate climbed by more than 4 percentage points this year compared to last year’s 74.30 percent.
This year, 78.33 percent students have been successfully passed the HSC and its equivalent examinations held under 10 education boards.

A total of 70,602 students have scored GPA-5 this year while 46,736 examinees got the highest achievement last year.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid along with chairmen of all education boards handed over the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Gono Bhaban around 10:00am Wednesday.
The results will be formally announced at a press conference at the education ministry around 1:00pm.
Students will be able to know their results after 1:30pm.
The results will also be available on www.educationboardresults.gov.bd and through sending SMS.
The pass rate is 84.54 percent in Dhaka, 70.06 percent in Chittagong, 79.16 percent in Sylhet, 60.58 percent in Jessore board, 78.55 percent in Rajshahi, 74.14 percent in Dinajpur, 71.75 percent in Barisal and 70.14 percent in Comilla education borad.
In Madrasa board, the success rate is 94.8percent and in Technical education board it is 85.2 percent.
A total of 85.02 percent students have passed under technical board while 94.08 under madrasa board.
Of the total examinees, over 9.24 lakh students sat HSC examinations under eight general education boards and some 2.11 lakh students took the examinations under the madrasa and technical boards.
1,147,374 students of 8,104 institutions took part this year’s HSC and equivalent exams held between Apr 3 and Jun 16.
