Kuantan, Malaysia (BBN)-The Malaysian police detained 80 illegal Bangladeshi workers raiding two separate areas in Tringkap and Blue Valley, Kampung Raja on Tuesday.
The expatriate workers believed to be working at a construction site in Cameron Highlands, reports Bernama.
The Bangladeshis, aged between 20 and 50, could not make their escape after being cordoned off by police.
The raids were conducted from 6:30pm to 11:30pm Tuesday.
Cameron Highlands district police chief DSP Wan Mohd Zahari Wan Busu said during the raid, no undesired incidents occurred as all the illegal immigrants gave their cooperation.
"Preliminary investigation revealed that they are believed to have overstayed in this country and were also found to be working at the construction site without valid permit and document," he said.
