Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-A total of 88.29 per cent of students have passed in this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations in Bangladesh.
This year, the pass rate has increased by 1.25 per cent than the previous year, according to the result which was published on Wednesday.
The achievers of GPA-5 also showed a increasing trend as a total of 1,09,761 examinees have got GPA-5 this year.
Last year, 86.72 per cent students had passed in the examinations while 1,11,901 examinees achieved GPA-5.
Results are also available through mobile operators’ short messaging service (SMS) and at the www.educationboardresults.gov.bd website.
In Chittagong Board, 90.44 per cent students passed the examinations.
A total of 84 per cent students passed in Comilla Board.
A total of 95.70 per cent students passed in Rajshahi Board and 89.59 per cent in Dinajpur Board.
In Sylhet Board, the pass rate is 84.77 per cent.
Barisal Board witnessed the pass rate of 79.41 per cent.
The pass rate in Madrasa Board is 88.22 per cent and 5,895 students secured GPA-5.
In the Technical Education Board, 83.11 per cent students came out successfully this year.
Earlier at 10 in the morning, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid handed over a copy of the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
This year, a total of 16,51,523 students took part in the examinations in 3,143 centres.
Students will get their results from their respective centres, websites of their respective boards or from mobile phones through SMS from 2:00pm.
The written exams began on February 1 and ended on March 9 while the practical tests held from March 9-14.
