Narsingdi, Bangladesh (BBN)-Nine people were burnt dead and around 50 injured when gas cylinders of two buses exploded following a collision on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Narsingdi, a central district of Bangladesh, Wednesday afternoon.

The accident took place around 5:00pm at BSCIC industria area in Shibpur upazila of Narshingdi, some 50km north-east of Dhaka, capital of Bangladesh.
Immediately after a head-on collision between two buses, the gas cylinders caught fire and engulfed the vehicles, locals said.


Of the deceased, seven victims were burnt alive in the buses while two succumbed to their injuries at Narsingdi district hospital.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
The death toll may increase as the condition of some injured were stated to be critical.
