Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-At least nine people were killed and 17 injured in two separate road accidents in Bangladesh on Tuesday.
Five people were killed in Manikganj, a central district of Bangladesh, while four more killed in Sirajganj, a north-western district of Bangladesh.
MANIKGANJ: The accident occurred around 1:00am when a speedy truck hit a bus coming from opposite direction on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in front of British-American Tobacco Bangladesh factory in Sadar upazila of the district.
Three people died instantly while eight injured persons were admitted to Manikganj Sadar Hospital, local police said.
Of the injured, the condition of one was stated to be critical. The fatally injured person succumbed to his injuries on way to Dhaka.
On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to hospital for autopsy.
SIRAJGANJ: At least five people were killed and ten more injured when a bus rammed a CNG-run- auto-rickshaw in Ullapara upazila of the north-western district of Bangladesh.
The accident took place around 8:30am on the Dhaka-Sirajganj highway in Boalia area.
Immediately after the accident, police rushed to the spot and found five victims dead on the spot, local police said.
Police rescued the injured and sent those to local hospital.
They also sent the bodies to hospital for autopsy.
