Bangladesh’s opposition leader Fakhrul released on bail

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir walked out of jail on bail on Tuesday.

He was released from the Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur around 7:30pm, BNP sources said.

Fakhrul secured the freedom as the High Court on Monday granted him six months' bail the last case filed against him.

A total of 19 cases were filed against the BNP leader on various allegations during the immediately past tenure of the now ruling Awami League-led government.
