Bangladesh’s stocks down at opening

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed downward trend in early hours of trading on Thursday, the last trading day of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down 15.48 points or 0.34 percent to stand at 4,442.12 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filled at 11:00am.

DSE turnover value stands at BDT 360 million.

Of the issues traded till then, 74 advanced, 104 declined and 38 remained unchanged.

Hwa Well Textiles was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 26.56 million changing hands till then followed by EHL, Northern Insurance, Lafarge Surma Cement and JMI Syringe.

The port city bourse – the CSE - also saw downward trend at opening with its Selective Category Index – CSCX -- lost 118.02 points to stand at 8,550.94 points, also at 11:00am.

Of the issues traded till then, 27 gained, 40 declined and 13 remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 18.04 million.
