Last updated: May 23, 2014

South Dinajpur, India (BBN)- An indefinite strike at Hilly border transit in South Dinajpur district of West Bengal hampered trade between India and Bangladesh.

The strike was called on May 14 by the Bangladesh Exporters Association, the ANI reported.

According to the President of Hilly Exporters Association Bikash Mandal, the complication started between Bangladesh Customs clearing Agents with the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at the transit point.

BGB reportedly tried to forcefully thump their seal on every export manifesto and also harassed importers which resulted in 1500 trucks stranded at the Indian site as well as in the Bangladeshi site, according to ANI report.
