Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Ministry of Education on Tuesday signed a memorandum of agreement with Microsoft Bangladesh to provide teachers at secondary school level with advanced computer training.
Acting secretary of the ministry Ujjal Bikash Datta and Country Manager of Microsoft Bangladesh Feroze Mahmud signed the agreement on behalf of the respective sides in presence of Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, an official handout said.
Microsoft Bangladesh signed another agreement on December 5, 2005 in presence of Microsoft owner Bill Gates, under which a total of over 8,000 teachers were given two-week basic computer trainings to teachers.
Hailing Microsoft for providing trainings to secondary level teachers, the education minister said, besides government initiatives, private schemes both by local and foreign initiators would help equip country's education sector with information technology.
