Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw downward trend in early hours of trading on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down by 24.87 points or 0.56 percent to stand at 4,367.27 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11:00am.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips lost 11.17 points or 0.69 percent to reach at 1,591.75 points.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) lost 11.81 points or 1.18 percent to stands at 987.06 points.

DSE turnover stands at BDT 430 million when the report was filed at 11am.

Of the issues traded till then, 76 advanced, 57 declined and 36 issues remained unchanged.

Square Pharma the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 147.76 million changing hands till then followed by Beximco, Shahjibazar Power, Peninsula Chittagong and FAR Chemical.

The port city bourse – the CSE – also negative trend with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – lost 58.89 points to stand at 8,268.09 points, also at 11:00am.

Of the issues traded till then, 18 gained, 27 declined and 9 remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 41 million.
