Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Bangladesh Bank (BB) has asked the banks and non-banking financial institutions (NBFIs) to establish women entrepreneur development unit within 15 days to facilitate small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across the country.

The central bank issued a circular in this connection on Sunday and asked the chief executive officers and managing directors of all scheduled banks and NBFIs to inform the concerned department of the BB after setting up the units within the stipulate timeframe.

The proposed units will monitor all branch level women entrepreneur development help desks, the BB said in the circular.

The BB earlier established same unit at its concerned department to facilitate women entrepreneurs across the country.
