DBH's earnings per share up by 88 percent in H1

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Delta Brac Housing Finance Corporation Ltd. (DBH)'s earnings per share (EPS) has increased to BDT 47 in the first half (H1) of the current financial year ended December 31, 2009.

This is about 88 percent increase against BDT 25 of the corresponding period of the previous year, the company said on Tuesday.

According to the financial statements, the operating profit of the company stood at BDT 343.2 million for the six month period as against BDT 216.5 million in the corresponding period of the previous year showing a growth of 58.52 percent.

As of December 31, 2009, the total funds under management of DBH stood at BDT 26.07 billion, customer deposits have increased to BDT 11.37 billion and loans and advances have increased to BDT 14.70 billion.

The non-performing loans (NPL), which is amongst the lowest in the financial sector, remains below 0.5 percent in the six month of the current financial year despite sluggish domestic economic trend due to global economic recession, the company added.
