Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh on Sunday mourned the tragic plane crash in Iran that caused the loss of 48 lives including five children.  
Forty-eight people were killed when a small passenger plane crashed in the west of the Iranian capital Tehran, reports BBC.
The aircraft, which was heading to the eastern city of Tabas, went down in a residential area near Mehrabad airport on Sunday morning.
“I am deeply shocked to learn about the tragic plane crash in Mehrabad area this morning causing loss of lives including children.  It is a matter of great sorrow for us,” said a press statement quoting Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“In this hour of grief, on behalf of the government and the people of Bangladesh and on my own behalf, I wish to convey my deepest condolences to the government and the friendly people of the Islamic Republic of Iran, particularly to the bereaved families of the victims of this tragic accident,” added a press statement.
The Bangladeshi people also sought divine blessing for the departed souls of the victims and pray to Almighty Allah for bestowing strength on the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss.
