Bangladesh’s stocks open positive

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw upward trend in early hours of trading on Wednesday.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE went up by 21.89 points or 0.47 percent to stand at 4,598.26 points after first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11am.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips gained 8.96 points or 0.51 percent to reach at 1,742.87 points. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced by 3.89 points or 0.36 percent to stands at 1,074.15 points.
DSE turnover stands at BDT 1.10 billion when the report was filed at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 127 advanced, 39 declined and 19 issues remain unchanged.
Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC) was the most traded stocks with shares worth BDT 125 million changing hands till then followed by Beximco, Titas Gas, KPPL and Lafarge Surma Cement.
The port city bourse – the CSE also saw positive trend in early hour with its Selective Category Index -- CSCX – gained 56.15 points to stand at 8,637.52 points, also at 11am.
Of the issues traded till then, 39 gained, 23 declined and 9 remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 63.64 million.
