Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Bangladesh Export Import Company Ltd (Beximco) dominated the week’s top turnover chart for the second week straight on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) that ended on Thursday.
A total of 31.42 million share worth BDT 1.33 billion changing hands during the week. Daily average turnover for the company was BDT 265.61 million.
The week’s closing price of Beximco share was BDT 41.7, registering a decline of 3.25 per cent over the previous week. A market lot is 100 shares.
Of the total shares – only 19.9 percent held by sponsor-directors, 6.09 percent held by institutional investors, foreign investors held 8.55 percent while 65.46 percent share held by public, according to DSE website.
The company listed in the Dhaka bourse – DSE in 1989. The company is belonging to the ‘miscellaneous’ sector under the category of ‘A’.
As per un-audited half yearly accounts ended on June 30, 2014, the company has reported net profit after tax of BDT 263.79 million against BDT 286.85 million for the same period of the previous year.
The week’s other turnover leaders were -- GP BDT 1.14 billion, MJL BD BDT 1.01 billion, Lafarge Surma Cement 990.14 million, Beximco Pharma BDT 865.73 million, BSRM Steels BDT 694.87 million, Golden Son BDT 622.57 million, Summit Power BDT 565.32 million, Agni System 481.96 million and newly listed Tung Hain Knitting & Dyeing BDT 473.52 million changing hands last week.
