Bangladesh cancels Freedom Fighter certificates of 5 secretaries

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The Bangladesh government decided to cancel the freedom fighters’ certificates of five secretaries as they obtained those "illegally" to extend their service period last year.
The resolution was taken during a meeting of National Freedom Fighter Council Sunday afternoon.
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque led the meeting after the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC)’s finding that the top bureaucrats obtained the certificates "illegally".
The five are health secretary Neaz Uddin Mia, former senior secretary to the prime minister’s office and existing Privatisation Commission Chairman Molla Waheduzzaman, public service commission secretary AKM Amir Hossain, former liberation war affairs secretary KH Masud Siddiqui, and former joint secretary of Liberation War Affairs Ministry Abul Kashem Talukder.
