Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Bangladesh has expressed its willingness to start direct flight with Vietnam through Myanmar for strengthening bilateral ties.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon said this while Vietnam Ambassador in Bangladesh Nguyan Quang Thur met him at his office in the capital Dhaka on Thursday.
The minister also invited Vietnam to invest in Bangladesh's tourism sector which he thinks has turned profitable.
Recalling Vietnam's long history of struggle, Mr Menon said there is a historical similarity of spirit among the people of two countries.
He expressed the hope that the ties between the two countries would be strengthened further in the coming days.
The Vietnamese envoy appreciated Bangladesh's socioeconomic progress and said the direct flight operation between the two countries will help boost trade and investment between the two countries.
