Fire at BSEC building in Bangladesh capital

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – A fire broke out at the sate-run Bangladesh Steel and Engineering Corporation (BSEC) Bhaban at Karwan Bazar in the capital Dhaka on Friday.
The fire erupted on the top floor of the 11-storey building around 11:48 am (local time), a Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence official said.
On information, 12 firefighting units rushed in and started attempts to put out the blaze, he added.
Huge black smokes were seen coming out from the top floors of the building that houses several offices including those of private television channels RTv and ntv.

The reason for the fire could not be ascertained immediately.
