Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - The National Board of Revenue (NBR) halted an order to shuffle 27 income tax commissioners on Thursday.
A final decision on the transfer of these officials would be taken after due consultation with the appropriate authorities, sources said.
The reshuffle order was issued just three days ago. The NBR decided not to transfer commissioners following pressure from high officials at the finance ministry, an NBR official claimed.
The tax commissioners who have completed two years or more in their respective places of work or got promotions were selected for transfer.
Usually, the NBR transfers tax officials during October-November period after review of their performance on revenue collection.
