56-member Bangladesh contingent for Commonwealth Games in India

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - A 56-member Bangladesh contingent will participate in the 19th Commonwealth Games to be held in New Delhi from October 3-14 this year.
President of Bangladesh Handball Federation Nurul Fazal Bulbul was named as chef-de-mission of Bangladesh contingent comprising 35 athletics and 21 officials.
Leading athletes and sportsmen of the 71 Commonwealth nations will compete in the 17 disciplines of sports-Aquatics, Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Cycling, Gymnastics, Field Hockey. Lawn Bowls, Netball, Rugby, Shooting, Squash, Table Tennis, Tennis, Weightlifting and Wrestling.
The India is going to host the Commonwealth Games for the first time after successful holding of the prestigious Asian Games in 1951 and 1982. It will be the 2nd Commonwealth Games in Asia after Kuala Lumpur in 1998.
