US Navy aircraft leaves Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-A US Navy aircraft which landed in Bangladesh with crew and maintenance personnel on Friday to assist the search efforts of a missing US Marine helicopter that went down in Nepal while conducting earthquake relief operatrion, left Dhaka on Saturday.

The P-8A and associated personnel have left Bangladesh because the requirement for the aircraft’s capabilities is no longer needed since the downed US Marine UH-1Y Huey helicopter has been located in Nepal, said a press statement of the US embassy in Dhaka on Saturday.

The US Marine helicopter had went to Nepal after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake killed more than 8,000 people and injured around 60,000.

The April 25 earthquake made the scenic Himalayan state as a city of destruction.
