Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- HSBC Amanah, a Shariah compliant banking service from the world's local bank, has organized Iftar meals for around 5,000 underprivileged children across eight countries in three continents.
Recipients included orphans, street children, the homeless and other under privileged, less fortunate children.
HSBC Amanah staff members in Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom took part in the Iftars, sharing the joy of giving with under privileged children, according to reports.
The Iftar items menus were as diverse as the locations, as were the people taking part in them. Rice with curry and vegetables and sherbat in Kuala Lumpur; boot-piaju, dates and jelebi in Bangladesh; and traditional Arabic mezze in the Gulf - all these dishes shared one common theme - HSBC Amanah seeks to celebrate the joy of giving.
In Bangladesh, a total of 7 Iftar sessions were organized in Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet and Char Fashion of Bhola - treating over 2,500 under privileged children with Iftar. Prothom Alo Bandhushobha was the partner to HSBC Amanah in this endeavour.
