DSE to go for 6-day Eid holiday from July 15

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Trading and official activities of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) will remain closed for six days from July 15 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims.
The holiday decision was made during a meeting of the board of directors held on the DSE premises on Wednesday.
DSE Chairman Justice Siddiqur Rahman Miah presided over the meeting, said a DSE official.
After the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, the normal trading and official activities of the prime bourse will resume from July 21.
The trading will begin at 10:30am and continue till 2:30pm while the office will begin at 9:30am and continue till 5.30pm.
Trading and official activities will also remain closed at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) during these holidays, said a CSE official.
Meanwhile, the DSE and CSE authorities have reduced trading time by an hour during the holy month of Ramadan. Trading at the bourses is taking place at 10:30am and continued till 1:30pm instead of 2:30pm.
The premier bourse also changed its office timing during Ramadan.
The office of DSE and CSE remained open at 9:30am as usual and continued till 4.0pm instead of 5.30pm during Ramadan.
