Bangladesh’s stock extend gaining spell for 6th day

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks extended their gaining streak for the six running sessions on Tuesday as investors remained active in the market amid encouraging earning season.
It was the last trading session as the bourses will remain closed from July 15 to July 20 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The market opened with an optimistic mood in the morning which was sustained throughout the session.
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 27.28 points or 0.58 percent to finish at 4,656.13.
The two other indices also closed in the positive zone. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 5.81 points or 0.32 per cent to close at 1,820.88.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) rose 5.27 points or 0.46 per cent to settle at 1,147.21.
Turnover crossed Tk 5.0 billion-mark again and amounted to Tk 5.20 billion, which was 5.26 per cent higher than the previous session’s Tk 4.94 billion.

The gainers took a strong lead over the losers as out of 317 issues traded, 197 advanced, 85 declined and 35 remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
ACI was the day’s top turnover leader for the four consecutive sessions with shares worth Tk 434 million changing hands followed by KPCL, BSRM, IFAD Autos and United Power.
The port city bourse Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed higher for the sixth sessions with its Selective Categories Index – CSCX – gained 44 points to close at 8,714.
Gainers beat losers 129 to 77, with 31 issues remaining unchanged at the port city bourse that traded 11 million shares and mutual fund units, turnover of Tk 425 million.
