Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Advanced Chemical Industries Limited (ACI Limited), a pharma sector company, dominated the week’s top turnover chart on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) last week that ended on Tuesday.
A total of 2.95 million shares worth BDT 1.82 billion changed hands last week. Daily average turnover was BDT 609 million.
Each share of the company closed at BDT 581.4 on the DSE, registering a decline of 2.68 per cent over the previous week, according to the DSE website.
The company has reported consolidated profit after tax (excluding non controlling interest) from Jan’15-June’15 was BDT 2,398.78 million with consolidated basic EPS (total) of BDT 60.28 as against BDT 158.31 million and BDT 4.01 respectively for the same period of the previous year.
Moreover basic EPS without one-off gain for the same period is of BDT 7.04 and BDT 4.01 respectively.
The company listed on the Dhaka bourse in 1976 and belongs to the ‘A’ category.
Of the total shares, sponsor/directors own 35.03 percent, institutions 30.62 percent while rest of 34.35 percent are owned by public, according to DSE website information.
In 2014, the company disbursed 100 percent cash dividend and 15 percent stock dividend while the company disbursed 85 percent cash dividend and 20 percent stock dividend in 2013.
After ACI Ltd, the other turnover leaders were – GP with shares worth BDT 649.40 million, Lafarge Surma Cement Tk 642.04 million, KPCL worth BDT 536.39 million, Beximco Pharma BDT 475.04 million.
Beximco Limited also came to the top turnover list with shares worth BDT 431.68 million changing hands followed by ACI Formulations BDT 398.23 million, IFAD Autos BDT 388.61 million, Olympic Accessories BDT 371.24 million and United Power worth BDT 343.35 million changed hands last week.
