Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram’s vehicle fired in Karachi

Karachi, Pakistan (BBN)- The vehicle of former Pakistan cricket captain Wasim Akram was fired upon in the Karsaz area of the country’s port city in what police described as an incident fuelled by ‘road rage’.
The fast bowler remained safe in the incident, Pakistani media reported.
Wasim told Geo News that he was on his way to the National Stadium to attend a bowling camp when a vehicle rammed into his car from behind.
He added that some guards and the owner of the other vehicle came out and shot in his direction, the bullet barely missing him hit his cars tire.
The fast-bowler said he was not facing any particular threats. He did however note the registration number of the other vehicle which he gave to the police.
He added that the other car appeared to be a government vehicle.
Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) East Munir Sheikh said the police has retrieved the CCTV footage of the incident and will identify the attackers with the help of the excise department. Police shared the registration number of the vehicle, a 2002 model Honda (AEG 061).
