Star wars coming soon ... at Disney Theme Parks

Last updated: August 16, 2015

California, US (BBN)-From a galaxy far, far away, Star Wars is being transported to California and Florida after Disney announced it was developing two Star Wars Lands at its theme parks.
One will be at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, and the other at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida, reports the Sky News.
Each attraction will be made up of 14 acres and both will feature the Cantina, the infamous hub of rogue smugglers and traders in the films, and a ride where participants will be able to take control of the Millennium Falcon.
The announcement was made by Disney chief executive and chairman Bob Iger at the annual D23 Exposition in Anaheim.
"We are creating a jaw-dropping new world," he said.
Iger described the project as "the largest single-themed expansion in the company's history", but did not comment on the cost or give a date for the launch.
The announcement comes as fans gear up for the first instalment of a new trilogy of Star Wars films, kicking off with The Force Awakens in December.
Harrison Ford, who reprises the role of Han Solo, was welcomed to the convention stage with a standing ovation and led the cast of the new film, including Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong'o and British newcomer John Boyega.
"It's a great thing to be here with you, who made this whole thing happen. I couldn't be happier," Ford said to the room of 7,500 fans.
