HSBC home loan fair begins in Bangladesh capital

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) launched a two-day home loan fair in the capital Dhaka on Friday.

The officials at the opening of the fair at the Sheraton Hotel in Dhaka said the aim of the fair was to complement the offers from leading real estate companies with home loan offers.

HSBC is offering home loans between BDT 750,000 and BDT 1,000,000 at an interest rate of 9.99 per cent, they added.

Twenty-nine organizations, including 26 realtors, are showcasing their offers in the fair. The bank will facilitate customers with conditional home loan approvals at the fair, they said.

On the first day of the fair, the number of visitors was poor due to torrential rain all day long.

Despite bad weather, some 400 people enlisted their names for home loan in the opening day, a bank official; said, adding that that the number will increase if the weather condition improves.
