Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bexmico Pharma dominated the week’s top turnover chart on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) last week that ended on Thursday.
A total of 12.07 million shares worth BDT 847 million were changed hands during the week.
Daily average turnover for the pharmaceuticals & Chemicals Sector Company was BDT 169.44 million.
The week’s closing price of each Beximco Pharma share was BDT 72.30, registering an increase of 7.91 percent over the previous week.
The company has reported profit after tax for the Jan-15 to June-15 was BDT 1,009.16 million with earning per shares (EPS) of BDT 2.61 as against BDT 724.27 million and BDT 1.88 respectively for the same period of the previous year.
The company disbursed 10 percent cash dividend and 5.0 percent stock dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2014.
The company’s paid-up capital is BDT 3,862.4 million and authorized capital BDT 9,100 million.
Of the total shares – only 13.15 percent held by sponsor-directors, 15.21 percent by institutional investors, 25.29 per cent held by foreign investors and general public held by 46.35 percent, according to DSE website.
The week’s other turnover leaders include Islami Bank with shares worth BDT 726 million were changed hands followed by Aman Feed BDT 719 million, BSRM BDT 684 million and United Airways BDT 615 million.
Multinational cement maker, Lafarge Surma Cement also came to the list as shares worth BDT 555 million were changed hands followed by Square Pharma BDT 452 million, United Power BDT 448 million, BSRM Steels BDT 432 million and ACI Limited worth BDT 409 million changed hands during the week.
